These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Slash Command application and website (the "Service"), provided by Choop Labs LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Choop Labs," "we," "us"). By taking the affirmative acceptance step presented in the app, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. Accepting the Terms is separate from choosing optional product analytics or providing any separate consent required by law. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Slash Command is a local-first macOS app that expands the commands you type into text, transforms selected text with AI, and keeps a searchable clipboard history. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Service for your personal or internal business use. You may not:

Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the Service;
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
Remove or alter any proprietary notices;
Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others; or
Use, export, or re-export the Service in violation of U.S. export-control or sanctions laws, or use it if you are located in an embargoed country or on a U.S. government denied-party list.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into this agreement where you live to use the Service. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

Provide accurate account information and protect your sign-in codes, sessions, API keys and connected-service credentials. Use only accounts and services you are authorized to access. Notify support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize and permissions you grant, subject to applicable law.

4. Free public beta

The public beta is free during beta and requires a verified email account for initial activation. Local tools work offline afterward, with encrypted storage on your Mac and your own AI provider key or local model. Sync and Android, Chrome, local and remote agents, Slash-hosted AI, Cloud dictation and subscription enrollment start unavailable to public beta accounts. Availability may vary by account as testing progresses; enabling a feature does not itself grant paid benefits or resource permissions. Beta features may change; this is not a promise that future versions or services will be free.

Beta features are experimental and may contain errors, change or become unavailable. We may modify, suspend or discontinue beta features or access. When reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to export affected content. We may act immediately to address security risks, abuse or legal requirements. Maintain backups of important information.

5. Future paid services

If we offer paid features later, we will explain their price and terms before purchase. The public beta does not enroll you in a subscription or require payment details.

6. Backups and recovery

You are responsible for keeping a verified encrypted backup and retaining its passphrase. We cannot recover a lost local encryption key or forgotten backup passphrase. Installing or deleting the app bundle does not by itself transfer or erase your stored library.

7. AI commands and third-party services

AI commands rely on third-party AI providers. If you bring your own API key, your use of that provider is governed by the provider's terms, and you are responsible for any usage and costs incurred under your key. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable. Review it before relying on it, sharing it or using it to change files, communicate, spend money or take consequential actions. It is not a substitute for qualified medical, legal, financial or other professional advice and must not be the sole basis for decisions affecting rights, health, safety or finances. The Service may also interoperate with other third-party services, each governed by its own terms.

When you connect an agent or external service, you must have authority to grant access and choose appropriate permissions. Review consequential actions before approving them. Slash cannot guarantee an agent’s output or the results of actions performed by connected services.

8. Your content

You retain all rights to the commands, snippets, text, and other content you create or process with the Service ("Your Content"). As described in our Privacy Policy, Your Content is stored locally and may be sent to the providers or agents you use as explained in that policy. We do not claim ownership of it. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to process it with the Service, including where it contains another person’s information.

You grant us limited, non-exclusive permission to store, reproduce, transmit and otherwise process Your Content only as needed to provide requested features, maintain service security and comply with applicable law, consistent with our Privacy Policy and your settings. This permission does not transfer ownership or grant unrelated rights to use your content.

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or obligation to you.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by Choop Labs and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Choop Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, including for death or personal injury, fraud, gross negligence, or non-excludable statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Choop Labs from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, use the Service unlawfully, or as described in the beta availability provisions above. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9–12) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Choop Labs regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them, for example in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, or of any right to bring proceedings in your local courts where applicable law so provides.
